About the Workshop
Asia-Pacific Workshop on Widegap Semiconductors 2021 (APWS2021) will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Tainan, Taiwan, May 16-21, 2021. The 10th APWS (2021) follows a series of successful meetings last held in Awajishima, Japan (APWS2003), Hsinchu, Taiwan (APWS2005), Jeonju, Korea (APWS2007), Zhangjiajie, China (APWS2009), Toba, Japan (APWS2011), New Taipei, Taiwan (APWS2013), Seoul, Korea (APWS2015), Qingdao, China (APWS2017), and Okinawa, Japan (APWS 2019). The workshop presents high-level scientific and technological advances in materials and devices based on wide bandgap semiconductors and featured plenary sessions, parallel topical sessions, poster sessions and an industrial exhibition.
Workshop Topics
APWS2021 workshop will highlight latest advances in the field of wide bandgap materials including III-nitrides, silicon carbide, oxides, and diamond, and devices. Topical symposia will cover growth, characterization, optical and electronic devices.
Crystal Growth
Bulk growth, epitaxial growth, doping and point defects, growth methods, and related technology
Characterization
Optical and electrical properties, structural analysis, and theory and simulation
Devices
Visible, UV, and white LEDs, micro LEDs, laser diodes, solar cells, detectors, transistors, diodes, high-power and high-frequency devices, device processing, contacts, and reliability.
System applications of wide bandgap semiconductors
Power supplies and modules, electric chargers, motor drive and control, hybrid and/or electric vehicles, and related utilities
